Bonaprene Products’ Spindle Liners fill the gap between the inside diameter of the turning centre spindle and the outside diameter of the steel bar being fed into the lathe. By reducing what can often be a large gap to between 0.75mm and 1.5mm keeps the bar central and allows more accurate machining. The hardwearing but resilient Bonaprene Polyurethane Spindle Liners offer both protection to the lather spindle and the bar and also insulate equipment from vibration damage as well as reducing vibration noise. The properties of the Bonaprene Spindle Liners also reduce production costs as the bar can be run at higher RPM so lowering cycle times.
The Bonaprene Polyurethane Spindle Liner comes in a variety of bore sizes to suit standard bar stock and is tailored to reduce whipping and vibration making for faster machining speeds and closer machining tolerances. The Bonaprene Spindle Liner also helps in the alignment of the bar with the collet opening as it feeds into the lathe and so prevents jamming.
The Bonaprene Spindle Liners are made in polyurethane elastomer “rubber” They don’t corrode and can be dropped without damage. The same polyurethane properties that insulate the noise and vibration also deflect to provide a longer working life. The Bonaprene Spindle Liners also accommodates stock bar that is bent or a bit off centre.
The Bonaprene Spindle Liner concept has the flexibility to accommodate all types of infeed shapes such as square hexagonal and extrusions of many varied cross sections all with clearance to ensure smooth in-feed.
The Bonaprene Spindle Liners’ one piece design makes fitting and change over very rapid. Open up the spindle clamp and slide out the Bonaprene Polyurethane Spindle Liner and just slot in the new Bonaprene Polyurethane Spindle Liner size you want, tighten up the clamp and you are ready to go.
